Review

Folie a deux by 6dayriot is a most beautifully thought out of CD. 6dayriot starts with a song Folie a Deux that gives the impression of a circus going through the motions of setting up in another town and then you get the feeings of the wizzing across of the trapize artists swinging from side to side of the circus ring and the reactions of the crowds below. The music speeds up as the artists goes faster and faster.

"Lord it's been so long I could weep " - a beautiful line of the track The Drone in the Fox's Ear that is simple and yet so very moving. I understand the feeling of needing sleep and yet there was no peace when waking, Nothing to help ease my mind. Many will relate to this song beautifully set, and yet so simple and pure.

The track River Clyde - took me back to my time in Scotland - The feeling of desolation within the families as the work came to a stop within the boat yards on the River Clyde, building ships for all over the world. The marches were filled with the men and the families who were suddenly plunged into a no work situation. Tamara (lead singer) has certainly captured the feelings of the men and women who were involved in the work of the yards and the desolation of redundancy from their daily work routines.

This is a very new young band, and as I write this review to go with the interview that Vicky did last Thursday, their first CD is being released to the public. I feel they should go to the top in the music world; this reminds me so much, of the folk music I heard in the early 60's and 70's, when people sang of what was important to them, Tamara and Soren have got a beautiful special sound and I wish them a long and successful career.
